What You Need to Know Since Comer Canceled Hearings
Others are stepping up to keep the pressure on
Welcome back to The Cover-Up! Glad you’re with us to follow the latest developments and collectively turn information into justice.
After Rep. James Comer abruptly canceled all future House Oversight hearings, many feared that momentum around the Epstein investigations would grind to a halt. But instead of slowing down, multiple parallel efforts have emerged to keep the pressure on. In the House, Rep. Robert Garcia and other Democrats filed a resolution to hold former AG Pam Bondi in civil contempt for skipping her April deposition, which has now been rescheduled for May 29th. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick is set to appear this Wednesday and a field hearing in Palm Beach with witnesses and victims is planned for May 12th. Elsewhere, the Government Accountability Office has announced its own investigation into the release of the files. And in New York, two of Epstein’s victims announced they would testify in support of a bill to give other survivors an opportunity to seek punitive damages in state lawsuits against his estate. These collective efforts on multiple fronts aim to prevent the Trump administration from sweeping this story under the rug.
